With its balance of lift and skiability, alpine feel and progressive front rocker, the Navis Freebird is built for both long distance and everyday quests. Last season's upgrades have increased its versatility, providing a perfect balance between skiability and lightness.
Greg's Take: You may think that 102 is a tad too wide for a daily driver on the East coast, but think again. The Navis Freebird is a workhorse of a ski, wide enough to have a little fun in the pow but damp enough to crush through the rough stuff. I've taken this all over the East from the Chic Chocs, to Tuckerman Ravine, all the way down to the mellow slopes of Cranmore Mountain. Take it from someone who routinely skis heinous conditions, the Navis holds up when you need it. Clocking in at 1752g for the 179cm length, it can certainly be a lot of ski for some. It can be cumbersome in the steeps and tight chutes (looking at you Diagonal) so if you find yourself up high more often than not, check out the Camox or the Orb. I opted for the 179 length for more stability at speed and for the occasional resort day. The Navis pairs well with a downhill oriented touring boot and a beefier freeride binding such as the ATK Raider series.

- Classic long camber: classic camber under the foot with extended ski/snow contact for alpine style cornering
- Progressive tail: secures support and facilitates pivoting

- Drilling: diameter 4.1mm x L 9mm
- Construction: semi-cap and cap in tip area for weight saving, lightness and handling
